Frances Julie Whitelaw studied Jewellery and Silversmithing at Duncan of Jordanstone college of Art and Design in Dundee, later moving to Middlesbrough to teach at CCAD.
She has been based at Platform Arts Studios since it opened in 2008 where she continue to create her own designs and teach courses in jewellery and Silversmithing at the workshop. Her work is exhibited nationally, internationally and on-line with the Goldsmith’s Directory.
She regularly works to commissions, producing unique designs for items of jewellery or larger pieces of silverwork.

Over the last 3 years an excellent programme of courses has been developed for the public to come and experience jewellery and silversmithing. The workshop is very well equipped and designed to accommodate small groups for creative work.
