Born Dudley, 1988, lives and works, in Middlesbrough.
Sam Judge (he/him) is an emerging British artist with a background in design. Working from his studio in Middlesbrough, he primarily works with paint on various materials and supports.
“As a painter I’m drawn to the infinite possibilities of abstraction. My process invites unexpected moments, I work with no prior plan or conceived idea and respond to the paintings as they evolve over weeks and months. I see it as a back and forth conversation between myself and the painting.”—Sam Judge
In 2019 Sam published Disquiet: The Hidden Depths of Men, a self-published title exploring modern masculinities. It was sold in Tate Modern and remains held in the archives at BALTIC.
